KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30 year old Lindsay man is facing charges in a collision that killed a pedestrian in Toronto.
On Saturday, December 11, 2021, at approximately 11:34 a.m., officers responded to a call for a collision at Midland Avenue and Broadbent Avenue.
Police say a 69-year-old man was crossing Midland Avenue from East to West in a crosswalk when he was struck by a 30-year-old man driving a 2019 blue Chevy Cruz, northbound on Midland Ave.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene
Police say the driver fled the scene on foot and was located by police nearby
Kevin Palmer, 30, of Lindsay, has been charged with:
1. Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance causing death
2. Operation of a Conveyance causing death while impaired to any degree
3. Leave accident scene/Fatality
4. Novice Driver- B.A.C above zero
He attended court at Old City Hall on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 10 a.m., in room 111.
Investigators are asking if anyone witnessed the collision, or was in the area at the time and have dash-cam footage, to contact police.
