Traffic Stop In Verulam Township Results In Impaired Driving Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 47-year-old St Catharines man is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop in Verulam Township.

Police say just after midnight on December 1, 2021 officers stopped a motor vehicle on Kelly’s Bay Road and found the driver to be impaired by alcohol.

Richard KIDD, 47 years-of-age, of St Catharines has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on December 17, 2021.
