Impaired Driving Charge Laid After Complaint About Vehicle Parked In Restaurant Parking Lot

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Peterborough County OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the Village of Bridgenorth at approximately 11:00pm last night. Police say the complainant advised that a vehicle had been parked in a restaurant parking lot for an extended period of time and they were concerned for the driver’s wellbeing.

25-year-old Taylor Henderson of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Operation while impaired-alcohol

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 5, 2022.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
