Fenelon Falls Resident Charged With Impaired Driving After Allegedly Hitting A Curb In OPP Detachment Parking Lot

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 27-year-old Fenelon Falls resident is facing impaired driving charges after allegedly hitting a curb in the parking lot of the OPP detachment in Peterborough.

Police say on November 22, 2021 at approximately 9:00pm, members of the Peterborough County OPP observed a vehicle in the detachment parking lot with its hazard lights activated. Witnesses approached officers and advised that the vehicle had struck a curb in the Forensic Identification Services (FIS) parking lot. Further investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of drugs.

Jamie-Lee Young of Fenelon Falls, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on December 31, 2021.
