Highway 35 Near Bethany Closed In Both Directions After Fatal Crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-The OPP has closed Highway 35 between Lifford Road and Twigg Road following a head-on collision at approximately 7:30 pm.

Police say an SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 35, when for unknown reasons, crossed into the northbound lane and stuck a pick-up truck near highway 7A in Manvers Township. The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at scene. The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.

The highway will remain closed for several hours while the OPP Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) team are on scene documenting the collision. Detours are set up at Lifford road and 7A.
