Officers From Across The Region Attend Funeral Service For Kawartha Lakes Police Service Constable Mike Broderick

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police officers from Durham Regional Police Service, Peterborough Police Service, OPP and Kawartha Lakes Police Service attended the funeral of Constable Mike Broderick in Lindsay today.

In a touching tribute to Cst. Broderick officers lined Lindsay Street as the Hearst left the funeral, many wiping away tears. Broderick, a married father of one, served on the force for 12 years. He died at the police station on November 5th. No details on the circumstances have been released.

“Mike was an extremely dedicated officer who served his community with professionalism and compassion,” said Chief Mark Mitchell. “His death is heartbreaking for all of us. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones and we will continue supporting them through this tragic time.”

At the request of the Kawartha Lakes Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police Criminal Investigations Branch will be conducting the death investigation along with the Coroners’ office.
