Friday Night Complaints Regarding Gunfire In Lindsay Result In Charge For Driver Of Loud Car

KAWARTHA LAKES-Complaints of gunfire in Lindsay on Friday night resulted in a driver being charged with unnecessary noise.

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to numerous calls Friday night in the Lindsay area regarding noise complaints, believed to be gunfire.

Police say on November 5, 2021 at around midnight, officers patrolled extensively to locate the source of the complaint, but found no emergency. A little while later officers located a vehicle with a loud exhaust, which was back firing and causing the sound.

The driver of the vehicle was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with; Unnecessary noise.
