KAWARTHA LAKES-Ross Memorial Hospital has 19 fewer staff members today.
Officials say 19 people were placed on a leave of absence for failing to comply with the organizations’ COVID-19 mandate.
“Of Ross Memorial Hospital’s roughly 1,000 staff and physicians, an overwhelming majority of 98 per cent are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.” Ryan Young Communications Officer with Ross Memorial told Kawartha 411 News.
As of November 1, 2021, 19 staff have been placed on a leave of absence, with three medical exemptions being accepted on an interim basis while officials collect additional information. There were no religious exemptions.
“Ross Memorial Hospital continues to provide exceptional care, which includes ensuring the safest environment possible for our staff, physicians, patients, and anyone who enters the hospital,” Young said.
Ontario reported 422 cases of COVID 19 today. 53% (225) of those are in the unvaccinated population. 174 are vaccinated and 23 are unknown.
TThe Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit reports one new case of COVID in the City of Kawartha Lakes since Friday with three active cases currently.
