Kawartha Lakes Police Investigating Fail To Remain Accident

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating a hit and run collision that occurred on September 29, 2021, at 4:00pm.

Police responded to the area of Mary Street West and Albert Street South after receiving information that a vehicle stopped at the intersection was allegedly struck from behind by a pick-up truck that fled the scene. Witnesses directed police to a parking lot on Albert Street South where the fleeing vehicle was abandoned before the driver fled on foot according to police. When officers located the vehicle, it was discovered to be have been stolen earlier in the day from a business on Commerce Road in Lindsay. Police have identified the driver involved; the investigation is ongoing. 

Kawartha Lakes Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police regarding this incident to contact them at 705.324.5252. Or if you live in the area and have video surveillance, you are asked to review your footage around the time of this incident and contact police with any information that may assist.
