Oshawa Woman Charged With Impaired Driving In Lindsay After 911 Call From Concerned Citizen

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 47-year-old Oshawa woman is facing charges after a call from a concerned citizen.

Police say on September 28, 2021 at 8:06pm Kawartha Lakes Police received a call from a motorist about a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was observed travelling northbound on Highway 36 before proceeding into Lindsay.

Officers responded to the area and located the alleged vehicle parked on St. Patrick Street. When speaking with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment according to police. As a result of an investigation, 47-year-old Jennifer Graham of Oshawa was placed under arrest and is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on November 4, 2021.

Police say despite the best efforts of their officers, they can’t be everywhere at one time. “This is why receiving tips from the public about impaired drivers is so crucial to helping the Kawartha Lakes Police Service keep local roads safe for motorists and pedestrians. If you suspect you see an impaired driver, please let us know by calling 911” said Sgt. Deb Hagarty in a press release.
