KAWARTHA LAKES-Two Lindsay men are facing charges after thefts of bicycles in the area.
On Friday August 27, 2021 the Kawartha Lakes Police took a report of a stolen, Daymak Vienna e-bike from a Glenelg Street West address. On August 28, 2021 the owner contacted police, reporting that he had located his e-bike at York Street address. The e-bike had been painted but was identified by the serial number according to police. A witness was able to identify the alleged suspect who had possession of the e-bike. 37-year-old Jonathan Haight of Lindsay is charged with possession of property obtained by crime. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 30, 2021.Â
On Sunday August 29, 2021 at 12:12pm police took the report of a stolen bicycle from a Mary Street West residence. An unknown individual allegedly entered the garage at this location and stole the bicycle. An officer had observed a male riding a bicycle fitting the description of the stolen bicycle on Saturday August 28th and after further investigation the suspect was located and arrested. 27-year-old Ronald Escott of Lindsay is charged with possession of property obtained by crime. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West on September 30, 2021.
