Trent Lakes Resident Charged With Impaired Driving After Vehicle Crashes Into Hydro Pole

KAWARTHA LAKES-Members of Peterborough County OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Deer Bay Road at approximately 9:30pm on August 28, 2021. Police say the vehicle entered the ditch and struck a hydro pole. The driver was uninjured but was found to be under the influence of alcohol according to officers.

Mishel Efimov (age 23) of Trent Lakes, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus

• Novice driver-B.A.C. above 0

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 28, 2021.

Officers also responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 4 at approximately 6:30am yesterday morning. Police say the vehicle entered the ditch and also struck a hydro pole.

18-year-old Marcus Peacock of Douro-Dummer Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

• Use plate not authorized for vehicle

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on October 7, 2021.

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol or drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight.
