KAWARTHA LAKES-A Fenelon Falls man who was wanted by Durham Regional Police is also facing charges in Lindsay.
Police say on August 22, 2021 at 7:19pm, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police were called to Mary Street East in Lindsay as a male had entered a vehicle and was removing items. When officers arrived, they observed a large number of items discarded around the vehicle. Officers observed the suspect as he fled the area on foot, running through backyards according to police.
The male allegedly ran through a Lindsay Street South business in an attempt to evade police and continued into backyards. The male was caught by police in a backyard on Mary Street East and placed under arrest.
32-year-old Jason Medina-Hanusiak of Fenelon Falls is charged with theft from motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, mischief, break and enter place with intent, possession break in instruments.
It was learned that this party was also wanted by Durham Regional Police Service. The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on September 30, 2021.
