Coronavirus Outbreak Declared At RONA In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit has declared a Coronavirus outbreak at RONA Home Improvement Centre in Lindsay.

The outbreak was declared on Tuesday August 17th.

RONA issued the following statement:

“We confirm that two associates who work at our RONA Lindsay store, located at 36 Harvest Street, Lindsay, Ontario, have received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis and neither case is related to the other. We are taking the situation very seriously. To protect the health and safety of our associates and customers, we followed federal and provincial COVID protocols in this situation. In addition, we took a step further by conducting a “deep clean” of the store. These actions were in addition to the enhanced cleaning and disinfecting measures already in place.”

There were two new cases of the virus reported in Kawartha Lakes today. Those numbers are for two days. According to the health unit, there are 10 active cases in Kawartha Lakes with 32 high-risk contacts being monitored.
