Go Fund Me Campaign Set up For 2 Year Old Boy Severely Injured In Multi Vehicle Crash Involving Truck Stolen From Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Go Fund Me Campaign has been set up for a two-year-old boy who was severely injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a truck stolen from Lindsay.

Police say on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at approximately 9:13 p.m., members from North Division were called to the intersection of Lake Ridge Road and Goodwood Road in Uxbridge for a serious motor-vehicle collision involving four vehicles.

A white Ford F150 pickup truck was travelling eastbound on Goodwood Road at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a white Ford Escape, forcing the Escape into the intersection where it collided with two additional vehicles according to police. Police say the white Ford F150 left the roadway following the collision where it burst into flames. The occupants of the Ford F150 were able to exit the vehicle; however, police say they fled the scene on foot before police arrived.

The investigation has revealed that the white Ford F150 was reported as stolen from Lindsay earlier in the day. This is currently under investigation.

In total, six people involved in the collision were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Four adults and a 14-year-old were taken to a local hospital, while a 2-year-old was transported to a Toronto-area hospital.

2-year-old Jaxon was airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital with a broken leg and possible broken elbow, as well as brain bleeding and possible brain damage according to a Go Fund Me campaign set up to help the family.

The 14-year-old has been released from the hospital after suffering a concussion.

The campaign says the money raised will be used to help the family with the costs of travelling back and forth to Toronto and securing a new vehicle.
