KAWARTHA LAKES-The Coboconk Wellness Centre project got a big shot on the arm on Thursday.
At an outdoor event at the Coboconk Train Station , the community along with local dignitaries, announced it has raised more than half of its $1 million goal to help build the new Wellness Centre. Including $250,000 from an anonymous donor. Pamela VanMeer reports in the video below.
The new Wellness Centre will be a hub for community health and community space for the under- served northern areas of Kawartha Lakes. By renovating and expanding the historic Train Station building in Coboconk, the Centre will offer more doctors and after-hours care, along with dental, physio, and many more services, while preserving an important piece of the area’s history.
A “Name the Wellness Centre” community contest was officially launched, an activity that the whole of Kawartha Lakes can get involved in.
“Name the Wellness Centre Summer Contest” details are available at www.WellnessCentreNorth.ca or by email to [email protected].
