City Says Popularity Of Textile Recycling Program Resulted In Missed Collection In Some Areas

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City says its first textile recycling collection has been met with overwhelming participation. We thank residents for taking the time to gather and put out these materials for recycling.

Unfortunately, some residents and the contractor, Recycling Rewards/Talize, say there have been pockets of the community whose collection has been missed.

“We apologize for the inconvenience. This is the first time that this contractor has collected in our municipality, so please have patience as we work to ensure that all locations will be collected. We are very encouraged to see so many residents wishing to participate in this program.” said the City in a press release.

If your collection was missed on your designated collection day:
Please bring your bags of textiles inside and contact the Recycling Rewards/Talize hotline at 1-866-927-3873 to reschedule for another day. The hotline is open from 9:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. If you cannot reach an agent, please leave a message and Recycling Rewards/Talize will return the call to arrange pickup.

If you do not wish to reschedule a pick-up:
Textile recycling bins are available at any of the five landfill sites for free drop off during operating hours.

If your collection day is upcoming:
Please leave your textiles curbside.
