Complaint From The Public Results In Impaired Driving And Drug Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on Chemong Road at approximately 6:45pm yesterday evening has resulted in impaired driving and drug charges.

Police say the vehicle was located and the driver was found to be under the influence of drugs. The passenger was allegedly found to be in possession of fentanyl.

30-year-old Kimberly Rogers of the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs

• Dangerous operation

36-year-old Colin Hay of the Municipality of Trent Lakes, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance-other drugs

The Peterborough County OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming drugs. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
