Lindsay Woman Charged With Impaired Driving

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 45 year old Lindsay woman is facing impaired driving charges after a call from the public.

Police say on May 31, 2021 at 6:36pm officers received a report of a possible impaired driver at a Kent Street West business. The driver was witnessed consuming what was believed to be alcohol according to police. Officers located the vehicle and prevented the driver from entering the roadway. The investigating officer allegedly observed the female driver as she consumed alcohol and attempted to conceal the bottle.  While speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and placed her under arrest.

45-year-old Debbie Collins of Lindsay is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and two charges each in contravention of the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Act.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West on July 8, 2021.
