Vehicle Stop In Norland Leads to Charges

KAWARTHA LAKES-A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) led to the arrest of a local resident.

On May 27, 2021 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP conducted a vehicle stop in the Norland area and the ensuing investigation revealed that the 25 year old driver was suspended from driving according to police. Further investigation indicated that the driver was also wanted on an outstanding warrant, leading to the arrest.

The vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for seven days and the accused party is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on June 22, 2021.

The OPP is no longer releasing the names of people facing Highway Traffic Act Charges.
