On Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 4:20am the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded an alarm at a William Street South business in Lindsay.

Police say the business was found to be insecure; the business had been entered and was in disarray. Video surveillance on the property revealed a male had allegedly removed a window air conditioner unit and crawled into the business, once inside stole merchandise and a quantity of cash.

On May 26, as a result of an investigation, Kawartha Lake Police Street Crime Unit arrested and charged 44-year-old William Mahon of Lindsay. Mahon is charged with break, enter and commit and theft under $5000.

On March 16, 2021 Kawartha Lakes Police responded to a break and enter to a Peel Street business.  On March 18 at 7:40am staff arrived for work at the same business on Peel Street to find an intruder who fled the scene according to police. Video surveillance revealed suspect had gained access through the rear door, described as male, wearing dark hooded jacket, blue trackpants with a white stripe and a dark-coloured baseball cap.

As a result of the investigation, 44-year-old William Mahon of Lindsay was arrested and charged with break and enter with intent X 2 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. It was the second time the business had been broken into.
