Fenelon Falls Gas Station Manager Recalls Checking $4.4 Million Lottery Ticket For The Winner

KAWARTHA LAKES-He didn’t win the lottery but Bruce, the Manager of the Esso Station in Fenelon Falls says it sure felt like he did.

Bruce was working on Wednesday afternoon when an elderly man came in to check his ticket. He checked the numbers five times. Then went outside, came back in and said he though he may have won some money.

“He said I think I won something big, can you check it before I pass out.” Bruce told Kawartha 411. “All the bells went off. He was shaking.”

The man had won $4.4 million in the Saturday, May 22, 2021 LOTTO 6/49

Bruce says the man was almost in tears he was so happy. Bruce is happy for him.

“I didn’t win anything but it was exciting let me tell you. I was excited.” Bruce said.

Bruce said he had had a lot of people coming in and checking their tickets after reading about a winner being sold locally but he was caught off guard.

The winner was on his way to his cottage in the Haliburton area when he purchased his ticket according to Bruce.

“His routine on the way to the cottage is to get tickets and he came back to check it.”

This is the second time the Esso in Fenelon Falls has sold a big winner. They had another customer win $1.7 million about a year ago. The OLG has not yet released the name of the winner.

Congratulations!

I couldn’t sell anything else until OLG called back. Hd to run it through again.
