Teen Charged With Stunt Driving On Highway 28

KAWARTHA LAKES-Members of the Peterborough County OPP were conducting radar patrol on Highway 28 yesterday afternoon. Shortly after 5:15pm an officer allegedly clocked a vehicle travelling at 143km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.

The 18 year old driver of Selwyn Township, Ontario was charged with stunt driving in relation to excessive speed

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 12, 2021.

The OPP is no longer releasing the names of those accused under the Highway Traffic Act.
