Local Resident Charged With Impaired Driving After Complaint Of Mini-Bike Being Operated On the Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-A local resident was arrested and charged after Kawartha Lakes OPP responded to a complaint related to a “mini bike” being operated on the roadway.

Police say on April 24, 2021, just after 8:00p.m. an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to the complaint and located the alleged vehicle in question on McGill Drive. The ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of Tiago Diniz, 25 years of age, who was charged with the following Criminal Code related offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused party is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 13, 2021.
