KAWARTHA LAKES-Two separate traffic complaints received by Kawartha Lakes OPP resulted in the arrest of the vehicle drivers for Criminal Code related offences.
Police say on April 22, 2021 just before 10:00a.m. an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to a complaint related to a potentially impaired driver. The officer located the vehicle in the Fenelon Falls area and the ensuing investigation led to the arrest of the driver, Randall Harris, 61 years of age, of Fenelon Falls, who now faces the following charges:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 6, 2021.
On the same date just after 10:00p.m. an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP received information related to a disabled vehicle on Kawartha Lakes Road 46. Police say upon arrival on the scene, the officer determined that the driver had allegedly been consuming alcohol. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver. Edwin Mc Ilveen, 41 years of age, of Ramara Township, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 13, 2021.
