Impaired Driving Charges Laid After Call About Driver Leaving Bobcaygeon Area Business

KAWARTHA LAKES-A traffic complaint received by OPP led to the arrest of an impaired driver.

Police say on April 11, 2021 the OPP received a call pertaining to a potentially impaired driver leaving a business in the Bobcaygeon area. An officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP located and stopped the vehicle. The ensuing investigation led to the arrest of the driver.

John Black, 66 years of age, of Omemee, was charged with the following Criminal Code related offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused party is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on May 13, 2021.
