Woman Charged After Incident Involving Local Students

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 26 year old woman is facing weapons charges after an incident involving local students.

Police say on March 25 ,2021 at 2:30pm City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a confrontation involving a couple and a group of high school students in the area of Adelaide Street North.

According to officers a couple was walking in the area of the school when they were yelled at by students passing by in their vehicles. The students met with additional students now out of their vehicles in a parking lot and become involved in a verbal disagreement with the couple. The students returned to their vehicles and everyone involved left the area. The group of students relocated to another parking lot, while standing outside their vehicles they were approached by the female half of the couple involved in the dispute. Police say she had a knife in her hand and was yelling as she charged towards them as they got into a vehicle and drove away.

Police located the couple a short distance away and after an investigation have arrested, 26-year-old Brooke Quinn of Lindsay who is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose.

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on May 13, 2021.
