Charges Laid After Woman Reportedly Kicked, Pushed Down The Stairs And Robbed In Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 31 Year old Lindsay man is facing charges after a woman was assaulted and robbed in Lindsay.

Police say on March 28, 2021 at 3:30pm, City of Kawartha Lakes Police were called after a female waived down a citizen requesting 9-1-1 be called. Police located the female who had visible injuries and reported she had been at a residence on Lindsay Street South.

Police say as she was leaving the residence, she was confronted and robbed by individuals visiting the residence. A male, forcefully ripped two bags from around her neck causing, the straps of both bags to break and injuries to the victim and he attempted to grab the victims’ purse without success. The victim was then kicked down a flight of stairs by an unknown female causing further injuries according to police and as she attempted to flee the residence the male and female prevented her from leaving, pushing her to the ground and taking her possessions.

The victim was screaming for help when the owner directed the attackers to allow her to leave the residence.

A suspect was identified and arrested on March 29. 31-year-old Sean Fisher of Lindsay has been charged with robbery with violence, forcible confinement and assault. The accused was held in custody to attend a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
