Local First Responders Receive A Sweet Surprise

KAWARTHA LAKES-Councillor Kathleen Seymour-Fagan says “kindness matters” and she wants to thank local first responders for their efforts during the pandemic.

“As a Municipal Councillor and business owner, I have seen first hand, how extremely difficult a year it has been for everyone,  especially our KL first responders. We thought that a small gesture of kindness may be able to brighten their day and remind them how appreciated they are.”

With the funds raised from sales of El Patio beer, from El Patio in Bobcaygeon, they were able to provide some special treats to first responders through V-EH and Madhatter Industries.

“Veterans and Everyday Heroes (V-EH!) has a mission of providing veterans and emergency responders with acts of kindness. These acts are so diverse in nature and size; all designed to bring some joy to the day.

MHI is a Veteran owned community based initiative of like minded individuals devoted to personal development and improvement of mental resiliency with a passion for making custom apparel.

Amanda, of Amanda Maykes, handmade each one of these delicious works of art, for EMS and Police Services. Amanda’s spouse is a volunteer firefighter in the Kawartha Lakes.

V-EH! And  Madhatter Industries say they are the conduit for the gratitude of the communities these first responders serve.

“This was a true collaboration of people who acknowledge that small gestures can make a big difference” Seymour-Fagan said.
