An Emily Township man has died as a result of injuries suffered in collision on Keene Road

KAWARTHA LAKES-An Emily township man has died as a result if injuries suffered in a crash on Keene Road on July 17th.

The OPP and emergency crews responded to the collision which occurred at approximately 11:00am at the intersection of Keene Road and Base Line.

Police say a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) travelling southbound on Keene Road collided with a pick-up truck travelling eastbound on Base Line. Two victims from the pick-up truck were transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. One victim from the CMV was taken to a local hospital.

Keene Road was closed between Redmond Road and County Road 2 while members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene.

Today police said the driver of the eastbound pick-up truck died as a result of the injuries suffered in the collision.

The deceased has been identified as 45 year old Stephen Butler from Emily Township, Ontario.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
