Alert neighbour interrupts break and enter in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-This is “community policing” at it’s best. Police say an alert neighbour interrupted a break and enter to a residence on Kent Street west in Lindsay on March 9.

At 2:30PM a witness allegedly observed a woman carrying property from a neighbouring apartment. The witness confronted the woman, who dropped some of the property she was carrying and fled from the area according to police.

The Kawartha Lakes Police Service was notified of the break and enter and a short time later, the suspect was found, allegedly wearing clothing she had stolen from the apartment.

The woman was arrested and has been charged with break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000. 30-year-old Jacqueline Burgess will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on April 9, 2020.
