Peterborough woman dies after being hit by car on County Road 28

KAWARTHA LAKES-A 30 year old Peterborough woman has died after being hit by a vehicle on County Road 28 near Cedar Valley Road last night at approximately 9:15pm.

Police say a vehicle travelling northbound on County Road 28 collided with a pedestrian that was walking on the roadway. The pedestrian has died as a result of the collision. No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as 30 year old Jackie-Lynn Ford (age 30) from Peterborough.

The deceased will be transported to The Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex in Toronto for a post mortem examination.

All lanes of County Road 28 were closed while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.

The road is now open.
