Go Fund Me campaign set up to help family of man injured in Highway 7 crash

KAWARTHA LAKES-The community is rallying behind a Norwood man injured in a crash on Highway 7 Wednesday night.

Members of the Peterborough County OPP and emergency services were called to assist at a collision at approximately 10:30pm on Highway 7 at Villiers Line.

A minivan travelling eastbound allegedly crossed the center line and struck a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) that was travelling westbound. The driver from the minivan was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. The driver from the CMV was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Jen Garden is the organizer of the Go Fund Me campaign. She says Donny Dumas is the main provider and only driver to his wife and 3 children, three year old twins and a five year old son. “Because of this terrible accident Donny’s family will need assistance with funds while he is off work and transportation costs to and from Toronto” said Garden.

Garden says Dumas has just come through an 8 hour operation with three surgical teams working on him and is now in ICU.
