Numerous people charged with impaired driving over the weekend

KAWARTHA LAKES-It was a busy weekend for area police with a number of impaired driving charges laid.

A Lindsay man is facing impaired driving charges after an early morning crash on Colborne Street on Sunday.

Police say at approximatley 6:00 AM a vehicle travelling on Colborne Street West in Lindsay struck a parked vehicle, before veering across the street and becoming stuck in a snowbank.

The driver of vehicle was watched by witnesses until a Kawartha Lakes Police Service officer arrived to investigate according to police. The officer spoke with the driver and arrested him after determining the driver was allegedly impaired.

Charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 0.08, is 19-year-old Liam Ryan of Lindsay.

Peterborough County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 115 at approximately 12:30pm on Friday, January 31st and the driver was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.

42 year old Oleh Molodstov of Mississauga, Ontario was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus.

Peterborough County OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 7 at approximately 8:15pm on Friday, January 31, 2020. The driver was found to be under the influence of drugs according to police.

32 year old Davis Skala of Tiny Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and Possession of a Schedule I substance-heroin

Police responded to another traffic complaint on County Road 6 at approximately 8:30pm on Friday, January 31, 2020.

50 year old Tracy Taylor of Douro-Dummer Township, Ontario was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus and Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

A traffic complaint on Elm Street at approximately 5:00am on Saturday, February 1 also resulted in charges.

22 year old Tyler McConnellof Trent Hills, Ontario was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus.

Meanwhile a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on County Road 4 at approximately 6:15pm on Saturday, February 1st resulted in the uninjured driver being charged.

62 year old Richard Rayment of Peterborough, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration – 80 plus
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
