Lindsay man charged with stealing from the same store twice

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay man is facing charges of stealing from the same store twice.

Kawartha Lakes Police were initially contacted on November 26, 2019 by staff at a Kent Street retail store after a male suspect was observed removing a 43-inch television from the store.

On December 31, 2019, the same male was observed in the store again according to police. On this occasion, he selected a 49-inch television and allegedly left without paying for it. The suspect was approached by an employee in front of the store at which time he fled the area on foot.

On January 1, 2020, 39-year-old Jody Hallett was charged with Theft Under $5,000 in relation to these incidents. He will appear in a Lindsay court in February.
