Man found asleep in the drivers seat one of two alleged impaired drivers charged over the weekend in Lindsay

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service has charged two drivers with impaired driving offences following separate incidents this weekend.

Police say on November 30 at 1:26pm a concerned citizen contacted police to report that a customer at a restaurant on Lindsay Street south had been driving a vehicle while impaired. A Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable located the suspected impaired driver in the restaurant parking lot. 53-year-old Brian Taylor of Lindsay was arrested and has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration above 0.08.

Later that same day, at 8:00pm a Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable allegedly found a man sleeping in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle, in a parking lot on Angeline Street north.

The officer determined the man was impaired and placed him under arrest. Charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and possession of a controlled substance is 41-year-old Adam Paul Hall of Lindsay. Both accused men will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street West in Lindsay on January 2, 2020.
