The Kawartha Store wins Downtown Revitalization Award

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Kawartha Store was recently named the winner of the Fenelon Falls Downtown Revitalization Award by the Fenelon Falls Chamber of Commerce on November 27th at their AGM.

The award was for the most improved facade and building in the downtown.  This award came with a cheque for for $1000.

Trish Dougherty, owner said “I am honoured to be recognized in this way.  I love Fenelon Falls and being part of this community”.

The two building’s that make up The Kawartha Store are quite old and they were in desperate need of repair when Trish bought them in 2011, particularly 30 Colborne Street. It underwent a complete restoration.

The buildings have been many things over the last century including a hotel, hardware store, garage, dry cleaners and real estate office.

Today The Kawartha Store is a stylish men & women’s clothing, shoes, accessory and gift store.

“Our focus is on our customers, delivering them the best shopping experience anywhere.  We carry Canadian designers and local artisans.  Plus our glass floor revealing the river under the building is a popular tourist attraction and topic of conversation” say Dougherty.
