KAWARTHA LAKES-For the first time in almost half a century there’s no Fox at the helm of Canadian Tire Store in Lindsay.
Dom Fox took over the store 47 years ago and he and his son John had owned the dealership ever since.
Fox bought his first store in 1962 in Goderich and in 1972 he took the opporunity to take over store in Lindsay and move back to his home town.
Fox won the Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007 for his years in business and his philanthropy.
He served both as chair of the United Way campaign and on its board. He was on the board of Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay and made countless donations to various charities.
In 2009 Fox won Best Local Event Marketing from Canadian Tire Canada for their Ladies Nights promotion. The store closes down for the night for the ladies event that includes product demonstrations, entertainment, refreshments and more.

The store was sold on Wednesday and new owners Larry and Lisa McCaw took over. This is their fifth Canadian Tire Store. “We are very excited to be here and are looking forward to the future.” Lisa McCaw told Kawartha 411 News.
