KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service has found a man who allegedly fled from police last Friday.
Police say on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at 8:00am a Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable located the vehicle and driver who had fled from police on November 8th.
The officer arrested the man for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police.
Last Friday at 1:10pm a Kawartha Lakes Police Service constable observed a vehicle speeding on William Street north in Lindsay. Police say the officer attempted to follow the vehicle and activiated his emergency lights. The vehicle did not stop for the officer, but instead accelerated, turning west onto Pottinger Street according to police. The officer did not pursue the vehicle. A short time later a witness contacted the Kawartha Lakes Police to report a suspicious man and vehicle parked behind a church on Victoria Avenue north.
When an officer arrived at the church to investigate he observed it was the same vehicle that had allegedly fled from police a short time before. Police say as the officer approached the suspicous vehicle, the driver immediately accerted, drove across the lawn of the church and fled on Victoria Avenue.
18-year-old Macguire Joseph Webster of Severn will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on December 18, 2019.
