Lindsay teen charged after allegedly being clocked going 63km/h over the speed limit

KAWARTHA LAKES-A Lindsay teen is facing charges after allegedly being clocked going 63km/h over the speed limit.

Police say on November 4th an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP was patrolling on Kawartha Lakes Road 121 when a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed was observed.

The officer stopped the vehicle, which police say was travelling at 143km/h in a posted 80km/h zone, and charged the driver, an 18 year old from Lindsay, with race a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Further investigation resulted in the driver also being charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with failing to surrender insurance card.
