KAWARTHA LAKES-Two men from Lindsay are among 11 charged in a multi-jurisdictional drug investigation on Wednesday.
Police say they seized enough suspected Fentanyl to potentially kill 25,000 people.
The operation began at 6:00 am when members of the Peterborough Police Service with support from the Community Street Crime Units of the Peterborough County OPP, Kawartha Lakes OPP, Quinte OPP, Tyendinaga Police Service, Belleville Police Service and the Toronto Police Service executed 13 residential search warrants and 7 search warrants on motor vehicles.
This was as a result of a 9 week coordinated Joint Forces Project that targeted individuals trafficking in drugs and weapons from Peterborough, the GTA, Kawartha Lakes, Lindsay, County of Peterborough and Deseronto.
Search Warrants were executed on residences in the following communities:
4 in Peterborough
4 in Kawartha Lakes
1 in Bridgenorth
3 in Quinte/Belleville area
1 in Scarborough
One of those raids was on Madill Crescent in Lindsay.

An additional seven (7) search warrants were executed on vehicles.
Eleven (11) individuals were arrested accounting for 44 charges for trafficking cocaine, Fentanyl, Crystal Meth, prescription pills and proceeds of crime. Charges were also laid for unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, Possession of a loaded restricted firearm, carry concealed weapon along with numerous breaches of weapons prohibitions and other court orders.
Over $35 000 dollars in Canadian currency was seized along with 6 handguns and three rifles with ammunition and a taser.
The following quantities of Controlled Substances were located and seized throughout the investigation:
A total of 305.34 grams of suspected Blue Fentanyl with an average street value of $92 000
A total of 1520 grams of suspected Cocaine with an average street value of $152 000
A total of 38.8 grams of suspected Crystal Meth with an average street value of $3800
A total of 161 Percocet Pills with an average street value of $3200
Estimated Total Street Value of all drugs seized is : $251,000 dollars according to police.
A quantity of the drugs and several weapons were located within professionally concealed compartments of one of the motor vehicles.
The warrants were executed with assistance from the Peterborough Police Emergency Response Team, K-9 Units, I.C.A.D ( Intelligence, Crime Analyst, Asset Forfeiture and Drugs) The Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit, Toronto Police Major Crime Unit and the Toronto Police Guns and Gang Unit.
Police say this has been a very complex investigation that stretched into many different communities.
Police say this is a significant seizure of drugs and weapons in the community and they are confident it will result in a disruption in the street trade.
