Some local residents could be impacted by planned power outage on Sunday

KAWARTHA LAKES-Hydro One is advising residents in the Peterborough/kawarthas of a planned outage needed for crews to complete upgrades to the power grid.

Hydro One says it must disconnect power to 8,489 Hydro One customers in Smith, Curve Lake First Nation, Douro, Harvey, Lakehurst, Buckhorn, Burleigh and Cavendish areas as well as power to Lakefield, which is served by Peterborough Utilities Group. The planned outage will occur on Sunday, September 29 between 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Hydro One crews will be completing required upgrades and maintenance in the area, which includes replacing poles and switches. An outage is required to ensure the safety of hydro crews.

Hydro One customers requiring additional information can call 1-888-664-9376.
