Police looking for witnesses after officer allegedly assaulted at the Lindsay fair

KAWARTHA LAKES-Kawartha Lakes Police are looking for witnesses after an officer was allegedly punched in the face at the Lindsay Ex.

Police say at approximately 10:45PM on Friday September 20th two members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service attempted to break up a fight between a group of young people on the grounds of the Lindsay Exhibition. As one officer attempted to remove a man away from an ongoing disturbance, another person approached the officer from behind and punched the officer in the face according to police.  The officer was knocked to the ground and sustained minor injuries.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service is appealing for witnesses to this assault to come forward.  Investigators would also like to review cell phone video that witnesses may have taken of this incident.
