Pre-trial Hearing set for July 31st for Fenelon Falls man accused of murder

KAWARTHA LAKES-A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for July 31st for a Fenelon Falls man accused of murder.

William Savage of Fenelon Falls was charged with first degree murder in the death of Bowmanville’s David Palmer in 2016. He is out on bail and made an appearance in a Lindsay courtroom on Monday.

Palmer was last seen alive on Oct. 2, 2015 and was reported missing on Oct. 6, 2015.

OPP say he was captured on video surveillance at the Race Trac Service Station on Highway 35, where he bought gas for his car. His car was recovered on October 14th, 2015 near Haliburton. The  OPP discovered human remains north of Haliburton in October 2016 and those remains were positively identified as belonging to Palmer.

If Savage is committed to trial a date beginning September 23rd has been scheduled.
