Man killed in motorcycle crash on County Road 507

KAWARTHA LAKES-A male motorcyclist was found in the ditch on County Road 507 approximately 3km north of County Road 36 this evening.

Police say a member of the public found the body, the male was pronounced deceased at scene. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The deceased has been identified as 52 year old David Rusk from Peterborough, Ontario.

The deceased was transported to The Provincial Forensic Pathology Unit at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex in Toronto for a post mortem examination.

The collision occurred between 6:00pm on July 19, 2019 and 4:00pm on July 21, 2019. Anyone who has information regarding this collision is asked to contact Provincial Constable Paul Gilligan at 705-742-0401 or 1-888-310-1122.

County Road 507 remains closed north of County Road 36 while members trained in Collision Reconstruction measure and document the scene. There was a road block at  County Road 507  for several hours while police investigated. The road reopened at approximately 11pm.
