Two people taken to hospital after shooting in Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH-The Peterborough Police Service is investigating a shooting in the area of Edison Avenue last night.

Police were called to the area at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. It was reported that two unknown males were outside an Edison Avenue residence where an altercation occurred. During the incident a woman was assaulted and a male sustained a gunshot wound according to police. Following the incident the two suspects fled the area. Both victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male suspects are described as follows:

Suspect #1:

  • Caucasian
  • Male
  • Approximately 6’2”
  • Thin build
  • Wearing a grey hoodie and grey track pants

Suspect #2

  • Caucasian
  • Male
  • Approximately 5’9” to 5’10”
  • Also wearing a hoodie

The area was initially closed off for the investigation but has since re-opened. Police are no longer on scene but the investigation continues.

Police say this appears to be an isolated incident.
