Officers allegedly assaulted at Balsam Lake Provincial Park

KAWARTHA LAKES-The Kawartha Lakes OPP were called to a domestic disturbance occurring at Balsam Lake Provincial Park on July 5th.

Police say the investigation indicated that a male and female were involved in a dispute that was escalating. Both parties were arrested for assault.

When officers effected the arrest of the male party, the male began kicking and spitting at the officers according to police. Officers were able to obtain control of the male who was held for a bail hearing as a result of his actions.

No injuries were sustained by the officers.
