5 GTA men charged after incident at a commercial business early this morning

KAWARTHA LAKES-Five men are facing charges after the OPP were called to an early morning incident at a Commercial business on Boundary Road, within the City of Kawartha Lakes.

At approximately 1:47 a.m. today, officers received information that five unknown males were on site and appeared to be in the process of removing various items. Officers responded to the call but the males were gone on arrival.

Frontline officers worked with members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) who received assistance from the Durham Region Police Service Canine Unit, and all five suspects were located and arrested.

Tibor Balog, 32 years of age, of Toronto, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

Elemer Lazi, 26 years of age, of Ajax, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

Robert Szukenyk, 19 years of age, of North York was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence
  • Disguise with intent
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession Break In Instruments

Krisztian Ruszo, 35 years of age, of Scarborough was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

•   Break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence

•    Mischief – destroys or damages property

•    Obstruct Peace Officer

Geza Karaszi, 30 years of age, of Scarborough was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

•      Break, enter a place with intent to commit an indicatable offence

•      Mischief – destroys or damages property

•      Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused parties are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on August 8, 2019.
