Tip from the public leads to charges for two Lindsay residents

KAWARTHA LAKES-Police say two Lindsay residents were caught red handed after a tip from the public.

On Wednesday July 3, 2019 at 10:45pm a concerned citizen telephoned the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service and informed police dispatchers that two men were spray painting the side of the Lindsay Street bridge.

Officers arrived at the bridge and allegedly found two men with spray paint cans in their hands, and fresh spray paint on the lower east side of the bridge.

Charged with mischief under $5000 is 23-year-old Cameron Branton of Lindsay and 25-year-old Dallas Boucher of Lindsay. Both men will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, located at 440 Kent Street west in Lindsay on August 8, 2019.

Police say this incident demonstrates the success of the public and the police service working together to combat crime in the community. If you see a crime taking place, please telephone the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service at 705-324-5252, or in an emergency dial “911.”
