“Suspicious” male found lurking on property in Omemee

KAWARTHA LAKES-The City of Kawartha Lakes OPP have charged a 19 year old man after reports of a suspicious male lurking on a property in Omemee.

Police say on June 16, 2019, at approximately 3:30a.m., officers were called to the Omemee area when a resident awoke and observed a male party allegedly lurking about his property. While patrolling for the suspicious male, officers discovered that the male had entered a vehicle parked at a local business, and removed various items.

The suspicious male was located and identified. As a result of the investigation, Nathan Richards, 19 years of age, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2, contrary to the Youth Criminal Justice Act
  • Trespassing at Night, contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, contrary to the Criminal Code
